SEEN IN THE BACKYARD
Yesterday, I even saw a raccoon
We stared at one another for a long time
A feeling of timelessness
Appeared for an instant and then vanished
So many once plump bodies
Hang
From one thin arm of the trees
I hope that I will putrefy no more
Let the bit of bleached bones
Stick to the dried branch
Just let language with shell and no pit,
Silence with pit and no shell,
And fuzzy skin and the rest
Be blown away on the wind
