PREFACE
I have been busy working all along without awareness
of elapse of 16 years since the origination of the magazine.
We've been persisted in publishing regardless of sponsorship
by government or not. The field of poetry is beautiful
but with intangible walls and today in particular. The
mission of this magazine aims at communication of poets
between the two banks of the Taiwan Straits and those
from China and outside of China.
It's no easy job to publish poetry magazine not to
mention bilingual poetry magazine. We've made a small
attempt, having 38 editors and reviewers all over the
world work together, in half a year, this periodical
is approaching accomplishment, let it be a memory of
its 16th birthday! Hong Kong University promises to
award a prize to this magazine, which can also be called
a birthday gift, apparently, there's joy amid bitterness.
The highlights of this issue are the Collections selected
by Niu Han and Zhou Mengdie , two old poets from across
the Straits themselves, which are adequate to reflect
their different style for comparison and appreciation.
Besides, there are fine works from famous poets also
with no details to be furnished this time.
Prior to printing, the magazine has been personally
proof read by several editor reviewer from Taiwan. What's
more, I went to Gaoxiong to ask for Professor Yu Guangzhong's
works, Professor Yu promised to submit one anthology
of the poetry translated by himself, he also promised
to become an advisor to this magazine, both make me
deeply indebted.
For the coming issue, Bian Zhiling's self-translated
poetry anthology and Wang Xindi's self-selected poetry
anthology will be published.
